Came for dinner and got the prefix. It's a good deal for $45 but I wasn't a huge fan of my choices. I got the shaved duck salad to start and the rabbit entree (super tender just a lot of peas came with it and I'm not a huge fan of peas). The butterscotch custard for dessert was my favorite part. Tasted kind of like creme brulee custard which is my favorite dessert. My fiance got the steak entree which was delicious. Those fingerling potatoes were fantastic. He also really enjoyed his semifreddo dessert. The staff was really fun and friendly. Cute neighborhood spot.

Belmont Food Shop is a true gem in the RVA dining scene. Dining here for me and my partner is like dining in one of our most cherished French country bistros. The menu du jour is "a l'ardoise" (written on a chalkboard) in the typical French bistro style. There is a three-course prix fixe ($50) or you can order a la carte. We always choose the prix fixe and are astonished at the great value for the fine cuisine that is presented! On our most recent visit, we started with the in-house cured duck prosciutto with peaches and arugula and also the house-made pâté...both superb! Our mains were the roasted chicken and the lamb with ratatouille. Both were masterfully prepared and so delicious. We finished our meal with the peach cobbler and almond cake...a fitting end to our meal. Brie was our wonderful server. She warmly welcomed us, explained the menu items, suggested accompanying wines (which were great!) and checked in with us frequently throughout the meal. We couldn't have wished for a better dining experience. Bravo to all at Belmont Food Shop! You're a gem in the RVA dining scene and for very good reason. We look forward to many returns!!!

Such an awesome place. I've been before when they had an octopus appetizer and it was the best thing ever. And I'm not a fan of octopus normally, so that was huge. This time around i got a seared duck and beef duo, husband got the blue cheese spread with salad and the scallops. It was all super delicious as expected, though the duck was a bit over done. The beef was so on point though! And the scallops were melt in your mouth delicious.

Wonderful little gem with a French flair! Perfect for an intimate friend gathering or a date, though probably not a first date as the preset menu takes a couple of hours to go through! You select from an appetizer, main course, and dessert list! Cocktails are unique and so are the glasses that they come in! The cured tuna was a miss, but everything else was 5 stars! You would want to book a table!

My friend Jody treated me to a spectacular fru fru dinner tonight at Belmont Food Shop. I haven't had a meal like this since I lived in Fairhope, AL. What a treat. I had an orange blossom drink before dinner, white wine with dinner then onto foie gras and pate for our 2 appetizers Pork Duo (pork belly & tenderloins) with leeks, potatoes and butternut squash ravioli were the 2 entrees. Finished off with spiced pear & cake with a yogurt mousse and silk chocolate pie for dessert. Now I need to fast for a week lol

This place is as memorable as it is delicious. A series of Incredible dishes leads to a level of surprise and satisfaction rarely achieved. Our server Nate was attentive and complimentary of the chef in such a way that made you glad you decided to stop and trust your night to this one of a kind restaurant.

My dining partner, and I stopped in for an early dinner. We had a delightful experience. All of the food was well prepared with interesting twists. In particular, the duck prosciutto with a fennel salad and clementine geleé was a revelation. The two waitresses were excellent and kept the entire small restaurant moving nicely. We will absolutely return.

Delicious food, helpful and friendly staff, and fair prices. It was a fixed price menu, $45 for app, entree, and dessert with good and reasonable portions. The food was so well prepared, delicious and refined without trying to be too fancy. The atmosphere is simple and cozy with lots of wood.
